Okay, I lied, one more reblog. The article has good info, but I couldn’t disagree with the conclusion more:
Personally, I feel like the real talent with Marvel films is behind the camera, and the money should be put on the screen. It doesn’t matter which actor dons the mask. 40% – 60% of these movies are all CGI anyway. As long as Marvel turns out quality films with awesome special effects, the talent will remain irrelevant. The Hulk proved that.
Not only do I call bullshit on the claim that the actors don’t matter, the author chose exactly the wrong example. CGI didn’t make the Hulk. Mark Ruffalo’s performance, and his chemistry with RDJ, made the Hulk. Marvel had better straighten this out, or my desire to see Avengers 2 will be severely diminished.
Agreed with lifeofkj here and only want to point out that this an example of celebrity clout being used right and hopefully effectively.
